Danish steam frigate Jylland Fregatten Jylland Painted

Jylland is one of the world's largest wooden warships, and is both a screw-propelled steam frigateand a sailship. During the Second War of Schleswig in 1864, she participated in the naval action against the Austrian-Prussian fleet in the Battle of Heligoland on 9 May 1864. Jylland along with theNiels Juel and Heimdall bested two Austrian frigates and three small Prussian gun boats, but was unable to maintain the blockade of the Prussian North Sea ports. Jylland sustained considerable damage during the battle.
In the 1890s she was reduced to stationary use and barely escaped scrapping in 1908. It was, however, decided to preserve her and she was towed to Ebeltoft in 1960. The hulked frigate further deteriorated until she was placed in dry dock in 1984. Restoration proved to be a major task; over 60% of the timber had to be replaced in addition to the rigging, armament, engines and loose gear.
In Danish, she is known as simply Fregatten Jylland, although several ships have used this name. The restoration efforts were completed in 1994 and she is on permanent display in dry dock at the town of Ebeltoft, Denmark. A commemorative coin was issued by the National Bank of Denmark.

Dutch ship De Zeven Provinciën (1665)

De Zeven Provinciën was a Dutch ship of the line, originally armed with 80 guns. The literal translation is "The Seven Provinces", the name referring to the fact that the Dutch Republic in the 17th century was a confederation of seven autonomous provinces. The vessel was originally built in 1664-65 for the Admiralty of the Maas in Rotterdam, by Master Shipbuilder Salomon Jansz van den Tempel. The ship participated in all major naval combat between 1666 and 1692. From 1666 to 1674 the ship was the flagship of the Admiral Michiel de Ruyter, one of the most famous sea-officers the Dutch Republic had ever seen. In 1694 the Zeven Provinciën was decommissioned and sold to be broken up. As of 2008, a new replica is being constructed.

Wasa or Vasa Swedish Tall Ship

Vasa was built top-heavy and had insufficient ballast. Despite an obvious lack of stability in port, it was allowed to set sail and foundered only a few minutes after it first encountered a wind stronger than a breeze. The impulsive move to set sail was the result of a combination of factors: Swedish king Gustavus Adolphus, who was leading the army on the continent on the date of its maiden voyage, was impatient to see it join the Baltic fleet in the Thirty Years War; at the same time, the kings subordinates lacked the political courage to discuss the ships structural problems frankly or to have the maiden voyage postponed. 





During the 1961 recovery, thousands of artifacts and the remains of at least 15 people were found in and around the hull of the Vasa by marine archaeologists. Among the many items found were clothing, weapons, cannons, tools, coins, cutlery, food, drink and six of the ten sails. No expense was spared in decorating and equipping the Vasa, which was also one of the largest and most heavily armed warships of its time.







Sovereign of the Seas 1637

Sovereign of the Seas
H.M.S. Sovereign of the Seas, launched in 1637, was the most powerfully armed ship in the world in its day. It was originally going to have 90 guns, but King Charles I personally insisted that a "great ship" be built for the English Royal Navy, so it went to sea with 102 bronze guns. The vessel was the most extravagantly decorated warship in the Royal Navy, completely adorned from stern to bow with gilded carvings. The ship was later renamed Sovereign and then Royal Sovereign. It was destroyed by fire in 1697 in Chatham.

On the deck, there are metal stationed cannons, authentic hand-built lifeboats with ribs and planks, wooden cabin, and many other handcrafted ornaments. There is also an exquisite detailed admiral’s quarter on the stern with a beautiful handcrafted metal lantern, amazing metal crafted statues, and many other spectacular brass ornaments.

Soleil Royal 1670 French ship Soleil Royal

Soleil Royal (Royal Sun) was a French 104-gun ship of the line, flagship of Admiral Tourville.
She was built in Brest between 1668 and 1670 by engineer Laurent Hubac, was launched in 1669, and stayed unused in Brest harbour for years. She was recommissioned with 112 guns and 1200 men when the Nine Years War broke out in 1688 as the flagship of the escadre du Ponant (squadron of the Ponant).
She was said to be a good sailing ship and her decorations were amongst the most beautiful and elaborate of all baroque flagships. The emblem of the "sun" had been chosen by Louis XIV as his personal symbol.

San Felipe 1690 Spainish Tall Ship

The San Felipe, launched in 1690, was one of the most beautiful Spanish galleons of the XVII century. She was the lead ship of the famous Spanish Armada. The San Felipe displaced more than 1000 tons and was armed with 96 cannons, enabling her to take on the most formidable ships in the French and British navies. The San Felipe’s role in the war against the British and French was to help protect Spanish settlements and harbors, to transport treasures, and to safeguard the long and hazardous passage back to Spanish ports. In 1705, the San Felipe participated in a furious and heroic battle between 12 Spanish ships and 35 British ships. After 24 hours of battle, she was captured by an English ship, but was so badly damaged that she could not be salvaged as a prize. She went down to the bottom of the ocean with several tons of gold.

The ornaments on her body made her more beautiful than any other ships at her time. Thus, to recapture the beauty of this ship into the model, we have used the most exotic wood that are available, the highest quality brass fittings that we can cast and more than 200 hours to put together this magnificent model. Examples of wood use include rosewood, ebony and mahogany. These materials are transformed into art pieces by the skillful hand of the master craftsmen. If you look closer, you can see an evenly smooth surface of wood on the hull. It was done more beautifully then most pieces of fine furniture. From the bow to the stern, you can see hundreds of shiny brass fittings and cannons. Wood pieces of different shades and colors are carefully selected and used to create an impressive look. The stern is the most decorated area with hundreds of small brass ornaments, brass railing, figurines and lanterns. You will more than likely be falling in love with the art work on the different decks of this model. All decks are done by putting together many rectangular small wooden pieces. There are round shape stairs connected the main deck and the forecastle deck. The main deck is also equipped with a couple of life boats, which even come with their own paddles. And then there are the skylight, ship bell, and ship wheel…etc. The model comes with its original flag and rest on a steady wooden base with attached metal name plate. 100% assemble, ready for display.
